Job description:1. JOB DETAILS:Job Title:
Accounting Specialist (equivalent to Supervisor)
Reports to:Associate Director, Revenue Operations & Financial Reporting-SSCDepartment:FinanceLocationShared Services Center- Amman
2. JOB PURPOSE – State briefly (in one or two sentences) the overall purpose of the position:The Accounting Specialist (Supervisor) applies principles of accounting and analyses financial information to assist with preparing Hikma Canada financial statements by performing and reviewing the monthly close responsibilities. Additionally, the Accounting Specialist is a strategic professional who contributes by adding value through overseeing the financial reporting responsibilities and improves current processes. This individual will have exposure to full financial results and willparticipate in various projects and initiatives.
3. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES please list the 6-8 most important duties and responsibilities for the job. Focus on what is required and not how the job is done. If similar jobs are undertaken in other areas of the organization, then please ensure consistency:
- Has the responsibility of (1) monthly-closing tasks, (2) general ledger journal entries and (3) account reconciliations.
- Assist in preparation of the monthly financial reporting package and supplemental schedules for reporting to Corporate (including the SAP BPC consolidation and review of the reporting package to Hikma Corporate).
- Collaborate with business partners for purposes of analyzing income statement fluctuations on a monthly basis and report on variances.
- Ownership of maintaining and enhancing Hikma’s documentation of internal processes and controls.
- Help and coordinate requests with internal and external auditors.
- Maintain a questioning mindset to analytically review and challenge the accuracy of support for journal entries and account balances.
- Reviews accounting policies and procedures and, as needed, recommends process improvements (including automation and operational efficiencies).
- Other special projects as assigned
4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS – Please ensure that the minimum requirements are the ones essential for undertaking the role:
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting/Finance or similar field.
- Preferred: MBA/Professional Certificates
EXPERIENCE
- At least 5-7 years’ experience in accounting or other relevant practice experience.
SKILLS
- Fluent/Excellent in English (written and spoken).
- Qualified candidates should have experience working with an ERP system, preferably SAP/SAP BPC.
- Strong presentation and interpersonal skills and an effective cross functional communicator
- Ability to contribute ideas to address business issues
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Excel, and PowerPoint, especially the integration with other MS products
- Self-starter with the ability to take the initiative, guide, and influence others toward goal achievement
- Collaborative working style, ability to foster effective working relationships within a team environment.
- Ability to organize and work with large amountsof complex information
- Working knowledge of internal control concepts
- Process oriented, data driven, and exceptionally well organized and detailed
- Experience in pharmaceutical industry preferred
